Drummer, Beatmaker & Producer.
As far back as he can remember, Baronski aka Aaron Schrade has always had music on his mind – especially his beloved drums. As a beatmaker and producer, he has written and produced a huge number of tracks over the years, released albums and EPs on vinyl, and some of his funky productions have even made it onto television. On the drums, he is hosting the monthly hip-hop open mic session Hello my Name is and is also on the road with a wide variety of projects, bands and artists.
more than 20 years
of making music.
From jazz and hip-hop to world music and rock – Baronski’s extremely diverse range has no limit. He has collaborated with a variety of artists across different genres, including Andy Cooper (Ugly Duckling), Umse, jazz trumpeter Christian Kappe, and the post-rock band Long Distance Calling. With his jazzy sound, funky breaks and saturated basslines, he even surprises himself from time to time – it never gets monotonous at all.
Bands, Beats
& MPC.
The open mic format Hello my Name is is celebrated not only in scene circles for its live band around drummer Baronski and bass player Manuel Bürgel. Since 2016, DJs and MCs have been taking the mic, attracting regulars and the curious to atypical hip-hop settings – the museum, theater and Castle Square. Baronski is regularly hosting sessions and the Sunday After Church Club at the Hot Jazz Club in Münster. With his homie Atwashere from Trust in Wax, he can often be found at beatmaker events accompanied by his secret weapon, the legendary Akai MPC.
WOX & Baronski
MIND THE GAP.
In 2018, he came together with his favorite colleague, WOX, founding the duo and symbiotic union, WOX & Baronski. Their debut album Mind Your Head already had great head-nodding potential. The following albums, Mind The Gap and the Versus Series, released via Dezi-Belle Records from Berlin, caught the attention of those with a good taste in beats.
FROM MÜNSTER
TO NYC.
A trip to New York led Baronski to work with Rayza. The rapper, who has strong connections in NYC circles, performed their collaborative tracks live in 2023 at the 50th birthday of hip-hop in front of 1520 Sedgwick Ave in the Bronx – what an honor! Thanks to RayZa, Baronski collaborated with the London saxophonist BNMO. Their song Great Scott, released via Block Opera, has been streamed an incredible 1.4 million times.
SIMPLY BETTER
MUSIC.
Always returning to simplicity, clarity, and to the pristine, always seeking to free his music from convention and from the “faster, higher, stronger” attitude – this is Baronski’s musical principle. “Nothing sensational”, he explains, “it’s simply better music”. Nothing sensational?! Well, we’ll have a listen to that!
